Tourists visit My Son Temple Complex

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Permanent Deputy Director of My Son Management Board, reported on the difficulties in recent operations, made recommendations and proposed many issues to find ways to resolve and overcome obstacles, continue to preserve and effectively promote the value of the relic in the new period.

Including key issues such as: The work of making the My Son planning orientation 2035 and vision 2050, requesting the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to issue a document recommending the City People's Committee to arrange capital sources, approve the cost estimates for planning and other costs related to planning work; assigning the investor agency; guiding the Management Board to implement in accordance with current legal regulations.

Proposal to consider the option of increasing the entrance ticket price; Proposal to prioritize the early opening of the river tourism route to My Son via the Han River - Vinh Dien River - Thu Bon River has been mentioned in the project to develop waterway tourism until 2030 with a vision to 2045 because this is a new and attractive type of tourism, with beautiful landscapes, rich culture and associated with My Son heritage, suggested and proposed by many travel companies.

Some problems such as the pressure to attract customers in the competitive context, the unit proposed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to allow the implementation of promotional and after-sales policies to attract customers and revenue. Implement appropriate customer attraction mechanisms to carry out promotions to companies to increase the total number of customers and revenue.

In order to continue promoting the results achieved in the past time and focus on consulting and implementing solutions to overcome limitations in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang has announced the conclusion of the Director of the Department on the above proposals.

Accordingly, specifically assign the Deputy Directors of the Department to preside over and direct relevant units to implement the contents of the conclusion notice, especially paying attention to directing the handling of difficulties, problems and recommendations and proposals that have been raised. It is recommended that the My Son Management Board fully absorb the opinions of the meeting participants to complete and advise on the implementation of relevant contents proposed and recommended in the unit's previous report.

Regarding the collection and payment of entrance fees, continue to implement Resolution No. 24 (dated September 22, 2023) of the People's Council of Quang Nam province (old) on the regulations on collection, payment, management, and use of a number of fees and charges in the area. At the same time, preside over the research and development of a new Resolution to replace Resolution No. 24 in the direction of adjusting and increasing entrance ticket prices (if necessary), in which it is noted to assess the current situation, consult relevant localities and the necessity of issuing the Resolution...

Regarding planning work, coordinate with the Department of Financial Planning to advise on the task of Planning for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national relic My Son Temple Complex in Decision No. 1404/QD-TTg (dated June 28, 2025) of the Prime Minister under the direction of Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi in Official Dispatch No. 196 (dated July 11, 2025).

Agree on the policy of adjusting and supplementing the river tourism route to My Son via the Han River - Vinh Dien River - Thu Bon River route, integrated into the Project on orientation for tourism development in Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (after adjustment).

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism supports the policy of developing a project to develop tourism in Thach Ban dam lake, especially developing community tourism in the locality. It is recommended that the People's Committee of Thu Bon commune study and develop a project to submit to the competent authority for approval. The Department will participate in consulting and coordinating to invite investors, units and tourism experts to contribute ideas and advice so that the project development process ensures the contents and implementation is feasible and effective.

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City also requested relevant units to base on their assigned fields to implement the recommendations and proposals of the My Son Management Board related to promoting and developing new tourism products at My Son Temple Complex. Research on organizing an annual festival at My Son, in which the program "Mysterious My Son Night" is integrated as the main activity to create new products to attract tourists to visit.

Complete the proposal report to submit to the Department's leaders in October 2025. Strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation in management and product development at My Son, urgently deploy the work of digitizing heritage and data; soon research and form a virtual reality tour at My Son, report to the Department's leaders in November 2025.

Regarding promotion, advertising and research, there is a department and staff that provides advice on service development and coordinates with the Tourism Promotion Center to propose promotion work, identify market segments for visitors to My Son, and note the need to conduct assessments and surveys of tourist needs in appropriate forms.

Unanimously agreeing on the necessary policy of adjusting and expanding the Cham Folk Art Performance House located outside the core area of ​​My Son Temple and Tower and being studied and incorporated into the Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national relic of My Son Temple and Tower until 2035, with a vision to 2050.

“The merger with Da Nang opens up new opportunities for My Son in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values. However, the operation process still faces many difficulties and requires support from all levels and sectors. In the coming time, consensus and support from the government and related sectors are needed to help this heritage both preserve its historical value and become an attractive destination in the Central region tourism journey,” said Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Permanent Deputy Director of My Son Management Board.
