Russian cruiser visits Cam Ranh

On April 27, the Varyag missile cruiser of the Russian Pacific Fleet, along with the Pechenga tanker and the Fotiy Krylov rescue tugboat, led by Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Yurevich Ulyanenko and a crew of 642 sailors, docked at Cam Ranh International Port (Khanh Hoa), beginning a visit that will last until May 1.

The Varyag cruiser has a standard displacement of 9,800 tons, is 186.4 m long, 20.8 m wide, 8.4 m high, and has a maximum speed of 32 nautical miles/hour.

On the afternoon of April 27, the Russian naval command group visited the memorial monument to Soviet/Russian and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives for peace and stability in the region in Cam Ranh and paid a courtesy visit to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.

During their visit to Cam Ranh, Russian officers and sailors will participate in cultural and sports exchanges with Naval Region 4 and Cam Ranh International Port.
