According to the announcement, this stop allows the crew to rest after a long mission and have exchange activities with the Vietnamese navy and coast guard.

Lieutenant Colonel Drouelle, captain of the Vendemiaire, will pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee and the Command of Military Region 5 and Naval Region 3.
The crew will participate in a number of activities, such as: Fire fighting, ensuring safety at sea, preparing for anti-pollution training at sea, search and rescue, ship visits and volleyball competitions.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said: “This stopover is a highlight of Franco-Vietnamese cooperation. The visit also demonstrates France’s commitment to freedom of navigation and overflight at sea, as well as the protection of shared spaces.”
Departing from Noumea on February 29, the Vendemiaire conducted maritime patrols and interacted with the armed forces of ASEAN and regional countries, including Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei and Australia.
The Vendemiaire is a Floreal-class frigate, 93m long, carrying a crew of about 100 members and carrying a Dauphin-class helicopter.
The ship carried out the Asia 24 mission under the command of the admiral in charge of French forces in the Pacific ALPACI.
