Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team: Helping farmers bring agricultural products far and wide

With the desire to help farmers in the province promote consumption and promote typical agricultural products to all regions of the country, in August 2023, the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team was established. This is a gathering place for producers, cooperatives, and media people on social networking platforms (such as TikTok, Facebook, etc.). After one year of operation, the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team has made many contributions to promoting and connecting the consumption of agricultural products in the province.

Thai Nguyen specialty agricultural products team organized a livestream program at "Vo Nhai custard apple and Thai Nguyen agricultural products market".

The livestream program "Vo Nhai custard apple market and Thai Nguyen agricultural products" was recently organized by the Provincial Cooperative Union and the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team in collaboration with Vo Nhai district at Xuan Hoa custard apple garden, La Hien commune. As the "core" of the program, members of the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team were present very early, setting up the machine system to operate the program with many locations in the custard apple gardens.

Although it rained heavily, greatly affecting the livestream session, everyone was excited and enthusiastic in performing their tasks with the hope that many people would know about it and "close" many orders for farmers. The program attracted 500 visitors, over 6 million live views on social media platforms and 865 online orders for the province's agricultural products. Of which, nearly 5 tons of custard apple products were sold.

Originally from Phu Binh, currently living and working in Hanoi , Ms. Duong Thi Hong, owner of the famous TikTok channel Hong Sinh Vien, shared: I grew up with rice and potatoes, so I understand the hardships of farmers. Therefore, I volunteered to join the Agricultural Specialties Team from the very beginning with the desire to bring my hometown's specialty products far and wide. To create quality films and images to spread about custard apples or other agricultural products, we go to production areas, meet people, experience the process of fertilizing, caring, harvesting, transporting, listening to them tell stories about the products, thereby conveying the message and value of Thai Nguyen agricultural products.

Mr. Kieu Thuong Chat, Phu Thuong Commune (Vo Nhai), excitedly said: My family has 2 hectares of custard apples grown according to the organic VietGAP process, half of which are for the main crop, the other half is piloting the planting of hybrid custard apples in separate crops. For the past 2 years, I have participated, directly introducing my family's products on livestream sessions, and I have learned and benefited a lot. My custard apple garden has many people coming to book tours to experience, take photos, enjoy, and buy to take home. Consuming custard apples is also easier, with better prices than before. Instead of selling at the market, now I can't pick enough custard apples to sell each crop. In the recent livestream session alone, I sold over 300kg of custard apples, priced from 30-70 thousand VND/kg.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Director of Thien Phuc Agricultural and Medicinal Cooperative (Dong Hy), the initiator and leader of the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team activities, shared: Currently, the Team has 20 members who are cooperative owners in the area, famous tiktokers, streamers (individuals or groups of people who do livestream work on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook...) who are children far from home, foreigners living and working in Vietnam. All share the same love, desire to spread and enhance the value of agricultural products as well as the beauty of Thai Nguyen land and people.

With love for Thai Nguyen agricultural products, Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team actively accompanies and supports units, departments, branches and localities to promote trade and product promotion activities.

The Team operates entirely on a voluntary basis, ready to participate in programs to promote and advertise agricultural products organized by local units, departments and branches. Normally, each program will take more than a month for the Team and the host unit to prepare from planning, script building, surveying, scouting locations, organizing techniques, creating videos to post to spread to everyone participating in the main event...

Each program is broadcast on many social platforms and information pages, attracting millions of views, thereby connecting many distributors and agents nationwide and internationally to consume the province's agricultural products. Since its establishment, the Team has coordinated with units and localities to organize 22 livestream sessions to promote and introduce typical agricultural products. Thereby, reaching over 40 million views, connecting nearly 18,000 orders on livestream and directly visiting with dozens of tons of agricultural products.

The most successful ones include: La Hien custard apple market and Thai Nguyen province's OCOP agricultural products held in Vo Nhai; Dai Tu Tea Festival; Viet Cuong vermicelli (Dong Hy), Phu Binh hill chicken... Along with promotional communication, the Team also built sales points, connected and consumed the province's agricultural products, built a set of Thai Nguyen specialty products as gifts for partners, customers, and family members.

The form of selling via livestream is opening up a new direction for promoting and consuming agricultural products in many localities, helping farmers to be self-sufficient in the output of their products. Talking about the activities of the Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products Team, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong, Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union, emphasized: We really appreciate your contributions in the past time. Although not paid or only supported a small part, with the love of agricultural products, the Team has wholeheartedly participated in programs to promote and connect the consumption of Thai Nguyen Specialty Agricultural Products.

The support and companionship of the Team has helped many people, especially partners and distributors, to know the province's typical products, sign cooperation agreements, and order seasonal agricultural products; helping people and producers change their awareness, quickly catch up with the digital economy, and be aware of building product brands by creating safe, quality indigenous agricultural products; the value of agricultural products has also increased significantly.

Through livestream sessions and videos posted on channels, interested agencies and units can promote communication, promote product connections as well as create mechanisms and policies to support farmers; stimulate tourism, connect experiential tours to Thai Nguyen...
