To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, this year the city organized many attractive programs to "treat" the people and tourists such as recreating the Old Quarter Night of the 20th century, folk games, traditional cultural activities...

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, every corner of Hoi An is covered in colorful lanterns of many shapes, the Hoai River is decorated with wishing flower lights, and the rhythm of the Bài Chòi (card game) urges visitors from all over to go to the festival.

At that time, all means of transport were banned and the streets were only for pedestrians. People were bustling out onto the streets, the shops were decorated more brightly, and children were smiling happily in their beautiful costumes, holding small, colorful lanterns.

Mid-Autumn Festival in Hoi An also has small tea parties with cups of strong green tea and plates of local mooncakes for the whole family to enjoy together. Hoi An on the full moon night of August takes visitors back to the simple, pristine moments of the past.

Ms. Le Thi Hoa (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) excitedly shared: "This year, my family and I celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hoi An, which was very special and new. Walking along the street lined with colorful lanterns, watching the Hoai River shimmering with lanterns, the sound of lion drums resounding everywhere... it was like being lost in a fairy tale, nowhere else."

Like other folk festivals, the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hoi An has an exchange and integration between traditional indigenous culture and foreign culture due to its history as an international trading port, so it has many special values. In that process, Hoi An people have selected the quintessential values, created appropriate creations and integrated them into a unique feature that only exists in Hoi An.
