Located in the center of Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province, the Citadel is not only an ancient military architectural work from the Nguyen Dynasty but also a place that marks one of the most tragic pages of the nation's history: 81 days and nights of fierce fighting in 1972. This battle turned this place into a "bomb bag", where tens of thousands of liberation soldiers fought bravely and forever lay in the motherland. That is why Quang Tri Citadel is often called "a cemetery without graves" , because the blood and bones of heroic martyrs have mixed into every inch of land and every brick here.
Quang Tri Citadel is a living testament to the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people. This place is not only a historical attraction but also a spiritual space for every Vietnamese person and international friends to reflect on the value of peace , independence and freedom.
