At the scholarship awarding ceremony last September, Doan Thu Huyen, a former student of Ham Yen High School, emotionally shared her story. Huyen passed the entrance exam to Hanoi University of Pharmacy, but her family only had elderly grandparents (her parents divorced and left when she was only 2 years old), while the university fees were too high. Having received the scholarship, she expressed her most sincere gratitude to the provincial leaders, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training and the Company, promising to study hard to become a useful person for society in the future.

Thi Thu Hien, a first-year student at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, living in the border commune of Son Vi, a poor household, said: "I was very worried when I entered school. In the midst of the most difficult time, I was awarded a scholarship by Ha Giang Mechanical and Mineral Joint Stock Company for 4 years of study with a budget of 120 million VND. This is truly a great and meaningful gift to help me excel in life and study."

This concern also touched the hearts of parents. Ms. Sung Thi Chang, Mong ethnic in Lung Tam commune, mother of Huong Thi Xiem (one of 27 students receiving scholarships) could not hide her emotion: "My family is extremely grateful for the concern of the provincial leaders, especially the Ha Giang Mechanical and Mineral Joint Stock Company for their help to poor households and students in especially difficult circumstances."
