The Cong Viettel - the team most actively 'hunting' for overseas Vietnamese in the new LPBank V.League season

In the latest announcement on the homepage, Viettel The Cong Club confirmed that it has successfully recruited Williams Lee. The 18-year-old British-Vietnamese striker is 1m88 tall and plays as a midfielder and striker.

Before joining The Cong Viettel, Lee Williams spent time playing for Warrington Town (England's 6th division) on loan from Stockport County. He played 16 matches there, scoring 3 goals and 1 assist. After his contract with U18 Stockport Count expired, he decided to return to Vietnam to look for opportunities.

Notably, Lee Williams signed a contract with Viettel but he was not registered to participate in the first leg of LPBank V.League 1 next season. The reason is that The Cong Viettel has used up its quota of overseas Vietnamese players. Before that, they signed Damian Vu Thanh An, Kyle Colonna and Duong Thanh Tung.

Damian Vu Thanh An was born in 2003 so he can completely participate in SEA Games 33.

Colonna is a Vietnamese-American central defender. He has had a season to test himself in the V.League with Hanoi FC. Overall, this player has played well. He needs to make more efforts to rise in the V.League, and further to gain a place in the Vietnam national team. Damian Vu Thanh An grew up in the Polish football environment. He was signed after a successful trial period at Viettel.

Meanwhile, Thanh Tung is associated with Czech football. The 26-year-old striker once played in the V.League for Binh Dinh. He has Vietnamese nationality because his parents are both Vietnamese. These players will help Viettel have more personnel options for the new season. Even with Lee Williams and Damian Vu Thanh An, U23 Vietnam will have more options for SEA Games 33.

Thus, Viettel currently owns 4 overseas Vietnamese players. In the current number 1 tournament in Vietnam, Viettel is the club that owns the most overseas Vietnamese.
