24 more communities in Nghe An benefit from revenue from ERPA

On September 30, 2024, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued two Decisions No. 2544/QD-UBND and No. 2545/QD-UBND approving the list of 24 residential communities in Thanh Chuong and Tuong Duong districts participating in forest management activities in 2024 to benefit from the revenue from the North Central Region Greenhouse Gas Reduction Payment Agreement (ERPA).

In Decision No. 2544/QD-UBND, the People's Committee of Nghe An province approved the list of 08 residential communities in Thanh Ha and Thanh Thuy communes of the 5th Nghe An Youth Volunteer Team in Thanh Chuong district participating in forest management activities in 2024 to benefit from ERPA.

Specifically, Thanh Ha commune includes 06 residential communities: Village 1 residential community; Village 2 residential community; Village 3 residential community; Village 4 residential community; Village 5 residential community; Production Team No. 3 residential community, Youth Volunteer Team No. 5. Thanh Thuy commune includes 02 residential communities: Production Team No. 1 residential community, Youth Volunteer Team No. 5; Production Team No. 2 residential community, Youth Volunteer Team No. 5.

In Decision No. 2545/QD-UBND, the People's Committee of Nghe An province approved the list of 16 residential communities participating in forest management activities in 2024 to benefit from ERPA of Tuong Duong Protective Forest Management Board, including: Tam Bong village community (Tam Quang commune); Khe Chi village community (Thach Giam commune); Hop Thanh village community, Ang village community (Xa Luong commune); Ve village community, Na Khom village community (Yen Na commune).

Coi village community, Minh Phuong village community (Luong Minh commune); Cha Lum village community, Huoi Pai village community, Na Cang village community (Yen Tinh commune); Dinh Tai village community, Cha Hia village community (Xieng My commune); Dinh Yen village community, Canh Khin village community (Yen Hoa commune); Tat village community (Yen Thang commune).

With the revenue from the North Central Region Greenhouse Gas Reduction Payment Agreement (ERPA), many forest owners and village communities in Nghe An province have been able to share knowledge and forestry skills to become effective forest protection forces. In particular, ethnic minorities have improved their livelihoods, increased income, and the lives of forest workers and forest protectors, contributing to maintaining national security, social order and safety, and increasing forest cover.
