Candidates applying for preschool education increased 4 times in just 1 year

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Bui Hong Quan added: By 2025, the preschool education department will have a total of 4,000 candidates took an aptitude test to select the faculty's preschool education major.

Compared to the number of 1,000 students taking the exam in 2024, after only 1 year the demand for studying this major has increased 4 times, a very high number. This is a very good sign for the preschool education industry.

* According to you, why is there such a sudden change in the increasing demand for studying preschool education?

- Dr. Bui Hong Quan: There are many reasons for the increased demand for preschool education, but basically there are the following specific reasons: Currently, many localities across the country are lacking preschool teachers, and the shortage is large, leading to the employment rate of preschool education according to our department's statistics reaching 98% with many second and third year students already having a "place" to deposit or a place to invite them to work.

Most recently, due to the impact of the Education Law, the role and position of preschool teachers, including the policies for preschool teachers, have been raised. In recent years, the income of newly graduated preschool teachers has been good, and now their position has increased, leading to an increase in the number of people choosing this field of study.

* Can you share about the income level of the preschool industry?

- According to our survey, the salary of newly graduated preschool teachers depends on the ability and job position of each student.

For students working in public schools in Ho Chi Minh City, they enjoy special policies, their income is around 11-13 million VND/month. For students working in private educational institutions, their income will fluctuate from 7-15 million VND/month, depending on each student's ability and the preschool institution accepting them.

* With the increasing demand for students in this field, what innovations does the faculty have in training a new generation of preschool teachers?

- This year, the number of candidates registering for the entrance exam increased 4 times, the school's benchmark increased by nearly 2 points (last year was 24.24 points, this year it increased to 26.05 points). This shows that the input quality has increased compared to previous years. The valedictorian of this year's faculty scored 28.79 points. This means that in some subjects he must score 10 points, in some subjects he must score 9 points.

Moreover, this year is a special year because the generation of candidates are the first to follow the 2018 general education program.

Therefore, the goal of the faculty is to improve the quality of training. That is also the reason why from this year the faculty has started to invest more in students' skills. Students of the faculty will have the opportunity to study with students from other countries, international experts and increase the addition of soft skills topics for students and adhere to the training motto: happy preschool teachers can change the world .
