The collection of Poetry set to music - 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City is a compilation of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association to honor the connection between poetry and music - two art forms that always go hand in hand in portraying the beauty of the Vietnamese soul. The selected poems, when combined with musical melodies, can contribute to nurturing love for the homeland and country through many generations.
People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized: "Putting poetry to music is a wonderful harmony between words and sounds - where the verses take off into melodies, and music breathes life into the words. This is a way for us to honor and spread the cultural values of the City named after Uncle Ho."
