According to the reporter, during the National Day holiday on September 2, most of the tourist areas and spots in the province were deserted. Except for the two days of August 30 and 31, when bad weather and heavy rain affected sightseeing and reception, on September 1 and 2, although the weather was quite clear, the tourist areas and spots were still deserted.

At Thien Cam and Xuan Thanh tourist areas on the afternoon of September 1, there were only a few groups of tourists swimming in the sea. Seafood restaurants had tables ready but had almost no customers. Accommodation facilities were also deserted.
Mr. Vo Huy Tuan - CEO of Muong Thanh Luxury Xuan Thanh Hotel said: "A week before the holiday, we received reservations reaching approximately 95% of room capacity for all 4 holidays, but the stormy weather caused more than half of the guests to cancel. Compared to the same period in 2024, the September 2 holiday had room capacity always reaching 100%, but this year it only reached more than 40%".

Before the holiday, most hotels in Thien Cam Tourist Area also received a large number of reservations but were later canceled. Mr. Ton Van Sinh - Head of the Rescue Team at Thien Cam Tourist Area said: "During the holiday last year, we always had to be on duty and remind tourists to swim in the sea, but this year the sea waves were big, and there was a lot of trash after the storm that had not been cleaned up yet, so no guests went to the beach. On September 1 and 2, the weather was better but the number of guests was only a few groups."

Not only beach resorts, eco-tourism spots are also deserted. Mr. Tran Dinh Song - Executive Director of Hai Thuong Eco-Cultural Tourist Area (Huong Son Commune) said: "The number of visitors at our facility has decreased by 50% compared to the same period in 2025, due to guests canceling their reservations. Besides the weather, another reason is that this year, many tourists have changed their schedules, many people changed their holiday trips to Hanoi to watch programs celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day."
Among the destinations, there are a few cultural and spiritual tourist attractions that are quite crowded. Typically, the Dong Loc T-junction relic site welcomed over 7,000 visitors during the 4-day holiday, but still decreased by 3,000 visitors compared to the same period in 2024.

According to the synthesis results from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the 4-day September 2 holiday, tourist areas and spots across the province welcomed 90,299 visitors, down 62.7% over the same period in 2024 (of which overnight guests reached 7,638, down 75%).
Faced with unfavorable weather conditions, the tourism industry has had directions to adapt, aiming to develop tourism on the right track. Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hien - Head of Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said: “Compared to previous years, this summer has had quite a lot of rain. This year, storms also came earlier, causing great damage to infrastructure and landscapes in tourist areas and destinations and hindering the reception and service of tourists, especially coastal tourist destinations. Faced with that situation, in addition to directing the management boards of tourist areas and destinations and business households to urgently overcome the consequences, bringing tourism business activities back to normal , the department has also oriented and guided units to change direction and reposition tourism strengths appropriately. Specifically, in addition to maintaining coastal tourism activities, we focus on developing ecological, cultural and spiritual tourism products…”.

Implementing the direction and guidance of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourist areas and destinations have also actively overcome the consequences of storms No. 5 and No. 6, quickly stabilizing the business situation. At the same time, many tourist areas and destinations have also quickly built tourism products suitable for the new context. Mr. Nguyen Minh Trang - Director of Minh Phuong.MP Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (owner of Da Bac Eco Tourist Area) said: "To adapt to the changes in the weather, in addition, this is also the time when students of all levels enter the school year, Da Bac Tourist Area is building educational experience products to practice life skills, aiming at the tourist segment of students...".
At Hai Thuong Cultural and Ecological Tourist Area, the Management Board is also focusing on products such as: hot mineral baths, health care in the cold season according to the traditional medicine of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, tours, domestic routes to visit Le Huu Trac relic site and local specialty production facilities. Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area focuses on welcoming pilgrims to offer incense and visit the scenery at the end of the year...

With its quick adaptation to the weather, the tourism industry is striving to overcome difficulties. Thereby, maintaining the development trajectory and aiming to complete the goals set at the beginning of the year.
