Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with the Prime Minister of Barbados

On the occasion of attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China, on June 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a bilateral meeting with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

The two Prime Ministers agreed on the need to promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones, to enhance mutual understanding and develop solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.

To promote the development of bilateral relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides coordinate to promote bilateral cooperation, in which priority should be given to signing cooperation documents to create a legal corridor to further promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, first of all promoting the signing of a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that Barbados is an important country in the Caribbean region, hoping that through Barbados, Vietnam will further strengthen relations with the region.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, especially Vietnam's early overcoming of the pandemic and strong recovery; hoped that the two sides would continue to create conditions and frameworks for enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, etc.; maintain close cooperation in bilateral relations and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations; Barbados is ready to act as a bridge for Vietnam to strengthen relations with Caribbean countries.
