At 3:20 p.m. local time on October 18, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to begin a working trip to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit and visit Saudi Arabia from October 18-20 at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation at the airport, on the Saudi Arabia side were the Governor of Riyadh city, Mayor of Riyadh city, Secretary General of GCC, and Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam.
On the Vietnamese side, there were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in Saudi Arabia.

During his working trip to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to attend and speak at the ASEAN-GCC Summit and have bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from countries attending the conference.
Along with that, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with the Prime Minister and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia; receive government officials, royal family, economic groups, and major investment funds of Saudi Arabia; attend and speak at the Vietnam-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, meet with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia.

Attending the ASEAN-GCC Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh contributed to strengthening the cooperation relationship between ASEAN and the GCC, especially in potential cooperation areas such as economics, trade, culture and people-to-people exchange...
The working trip contributes to strengthening political trust and improving the effectiveness of cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, official development assistance (ODA), labor, etc. between Vietnam and GCC countries, especially between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, towards the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Saudi Arabia diplomatic relations in 2024.
