On the evening of July 22, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Dam Hai Van - head of Nha Trang Bay Management Board - said that at noon the same day, a whale appeared at Nha Trang Bay Marine Reserve.
According to Mr. Van, the area where the whale appeared is located in Hon Rom near Hon Mun, a strictly protected area. This is a good sign.
Previously in May, many dolphins also appeared in Nha Trang Bay, creating a series of consecutive positive phenomena.
This shows that the marine ecosystem is gradually recovering after many years of being impacted by tourism and fishing activities.
Nha Trang Bay Management Board recommends that if tourists and fishermen encounter whales, they should only observe them from a distance and avoid approaching them so as not to affect their natural activities.
At the same time, call on the whole community to continue joining hands to protect the marine environment, turning Nha Trang Bay into a safe home for marine life.
