Promoting cooperation between the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board and Indian scientific organizations

From August 2-6, a delegation from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) led by Dr. Praveen Kumar Mishra, Director of the Archaeological Survey of India, and other experts visited the Oc Eo-Ba The National Monument in An Giang province.

This is the initial activity within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board of An Giang province (Vietnam) and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2023-2025.

The program aims to coordinate with Indian archaeological experts to conduct a survey of the system of Oc Eo cultural relics and artifacts in Oc Eo - Ba The and An Giang province in general.

In addition, to promote cooperation between the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board of An Giang province and Indian scientific organizations in coordinating research, conservation and promotion of the value of Oc Eo cultural heritage in An Giang province; contributing to the communication and promotion of Oc Eo cultural heritage to the world.

Accordingly, the delegation surveyed the collections of artifacts kept at the Exhibition House and the Artifact Archive; surveyed excavated relic sites and some inventory relics of the Oc Eo - Ba The Archaeological Site; visited An Giang Museum and some cultural sites in An Giang province.

In addition, experts had a meeting with leaders of the Oc Eo Cultural Relic Management Board of An Giang province about cooperation prospects between the two units in the coming time.
