On the evening of September 12, Thuy Linh competed in the Vietnam Open quarter-final match with her opponent Nithiitikrai (Thailand).
Previously, Hai Dang was eliminated in the men's singles, while Dinh Hoang - Dinh Manh also stopped in the men's doubles. Therefore, Thuy Linh became the last hope of Vietnamese badminton in this year's tournament.
This should have been an easy match for the home player, as she is ranked 18th in the world while her opponent is ranked 80th. But that ease only happened in set 1, when Thuy Linh won overwhelmingly 21-10.
In set 2, the Vietnamese badminton hot girl suddenly slumped. She made many unfortunate mistakes, losing points continuously.
Nithiitikrai also had a focused set, often with drop shots in difficult positions. This time it was the Thai player's turn to win 21-13.

At the start of set 3, Thuy Linh continued to have trouble with inaccurate shots. Even when Nithiitikrai was tired, the Vietnamese girl could not compete easily.
There was a time when Thuy Linh led as far as 10-5, but then let her opponent close in with scores of 15-18, 17-19. There were even times when she was indecisive and did not finish strongly, and Nithiitikrai just waited for that moment to counterattack.
But in the end, the Thai player gave in after hitting the ball into the net herself. Thuy Linh won the third set 21-18, thereby entering the semi-finals of the Vietnam Open 2025.
She has moved closer to winning the tournament for the fourth consecutive time. Thuy Linh's next opponent is Korean player Kim Min Ji.
