Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea Lee Doo Hee co-chaired the Dialogue.
Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien congratulated the success of the 14th Seoul Defense Dialogue, thereby affirming the position and role of Korea in general and the Korean Ministry of National Defense in particular.
In recent times, the Vietnam-Korea defense cooperation relationship has continued to receive attention and promotion from both sides, achieving many practical and outstanding results such as the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially at high levels; dialogue and consultation mechanisms have been maintained periodically and alternately in each country, thereby contributing to enhancing mutual understanding, promoting increasingly in-depth and substantive cooperation contents; cooperation in training, military services, overcoming the consequences of war, United Nations peacekeeping, defense industry; regular coordination and consultation with each other in multilateral forums, especially ADMM+...

Deputy Minister Lee Doo Hee emphasized that Vietnam is an important partner of Korea, in which defense cooperation is the main pillar with highlights in cooperation in education , training, and United Nations peacekeeping. Korea hopes that the two sides will promote research to expand other areas of cooperation.
In the coming time, the two sides will focus on promoting a number of cooperation contents in exchanging delegations at all levels, continuing to effectively maintain consultation and dialogue mechanisms, especially the Deputy Ministerial Defense Policy Dialogue; regarding training cooperation, Vietnam is ready to receive Korean military students to attend Vietnamese language courses at the Academy of Military Science and senior Korean officers to attend the International Defense Officials Course at the National Defense Academy; cooperation in military services, overcoming the consequences of war, UN peacekeeping, defense industry, cooperation between research agencies, cultural exchanges, etc.; continue to support and participate in multilateral activities organized by each side.
Vietnam agreed with the proposal of the Korean Deputy Minister of Defense on establishing subcommittees (working groups) to discuss and promote defense cooperation in practical and effective fields.

At the Dialogue, the two sides also discussed the world and regional situation and issues of mutual concern. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that Vietnam consistently pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations; is ready to cooperate with countries and international organizations for peace, cooperation and development; persists in the "Four Nos" Defense Policy; Vietnam advocates the struggle to resolve all disputes and disagreements in the East Sea by peaceful means on the basis of international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982); complies with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), promotes the early conclusion of negotiations and the signing of a Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC) that is substantive, effective, efficient, and in accordance with international law.
South Korean Deputy Defense Minister Lee Doo Hee emphasized the importance of Vietnam-South Korea relations in general and defense cooperation between the two countries in particular.
Sharing his views on the world and regional situation, the Korean Deputy Minister of National Defense emphasized the need to work together to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing environment; expressed his confidence in the spirit of frank and positive exchanges; and believed that this dialogue will contribute significantly to promoting the Vietnam-Korea defense cooperation relationship to develop more practically and effectively, making a positive contribution to peace, stability and development in the region as well as the world.
At the end of the Dialogue, the two Heads of Delegation signed an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding on UN peacekeeping cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

On the same morning, visited the Korean Army Academy and the School's Virtual Reality Training Center, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his impression of the achievements the school has made as well as the modern facilities, training and coaching work; at the same time, he highly appreciated the synchronous equipment, modern facilities and training results in combat readiness and task performance of the Center; he was especially impressed with the high level of expertise, professionalism, discipline and discipline of the officers and soldiers of the Center.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien sincerely thanked the Korean Army Officers School for its effective support to Vietnam in the field of human resource training and education. Currently, there are 4 Vietnamese students studying at the School.
After being trained in Korea, Vietnamese officers returning home all have good feelings for the country, people and army of Korea, and at the same time have made practical contributions to the Vietnam People's Army.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hopes that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of human resource training for the two countries' Army forces. The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense is ready to create favorable conditions for Korean military units in general, the Korean Army Officer School and the Virtual Reality Training Center in particular, to meet, exchange and share experiences with corresponding units of Vietnam in the coming time.
