The two competitions were organized by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Youth Union under the direction of the Military Youth Committee and the Central Youth Union's Propaganda Department, along with relevant agencies and units, to contribute to raising awareness, strengthening trust, and promoting the responsibility of youth and people nationwide for the task of building the Army, consolidating national defense, and building and firmly protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
The contest is conducted in two forms: online interactive test and written test. Specifically, the Organizing Committee will broadcast live (livestream) on the Facebook community network (fanpage) at the addresses of the Central Youth Union Electronic Information Portal and the Central Youth Union Propaganda Department, during the period from September to November 2024 (10 sessions).

The written exam is divided into two groups: Group A (all candidates can participate) and Group B (for candidates under 16 years old). Candidates in Group A will take a test and answer 10 questions related to the formation process, outstanding achievements of the Vietnam People's Army and information related to the Army and National Defense Day...
Candidates participating in the competition in Group B will write an essay on the theme of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the qualities and noble image of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," the meaning of the National Defense Day; today's young generation promotes the tradition of their predecessors, contributes to building the Army, strengthening national defense, building a prosperous and happy country and firmly protecting the Fatherland.
Entries must be submitted by individuals (not groups of authors). Each author can submit multiple entries. The submission period is from September 1-30, 2024, and the submission location is at the Air Defense - Air Force Museum (173C Truong Chinh Street, Khuong Mai Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi ). The summary and award ceremony is expected to take place in mid-December 2024, integrated into the "Marching to the Source" program in Military Region 1 (Cao Bang Province).
The prize structure in the multiple-choice test includes prizes for the winner of each question and prizes for the winner of each test session; in the written test, there are 35 collective prizes and 80 individual prizes for group A, and 35 individual prizes for group B.
For the Contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), contestants are Vietnamese citizens living in the country.
Authors (groups of authors) choose one of 10 topics to write their entries such as The process of building, developing, functions, tasks, great contributions and glorious traditions of the General Department of Politics; The General Department of Politics with the cause of building a politically strong Vietnam People's Army; The position, role and important contributions of political agencies, political cadres at all levels and party work and political work in the process of building, fighting, winning and maturing of our Army; Consolidating and strengthening the "flesh and blood" solidarity relationship between the army and the people; Youth volunteers to firmly protect the Fatherland in the new situation...
Entries must not exceed 5,000 words and must convey one of the 10 topics of the contest content through genres such as argumentation, reflection, notes, memoirs, reports, poetry, songs, etc. Each author (group of authors) can submit multiple entries. For groups of authors participating in the contest, there must be no more than 5 people.
The Organizing Committee encourages entries to be elaborate, profound in content, creative in form; scientifically presented, using digital technology, images, and appropriate illustrative materials; closely related and applied to the position, responsibilities of individuals and the reality of agencies, units, and localities.
The time for receiving entries is from September 1 to September 30, 2024, at the B52 Victory Museum (Hanoi Capital Command). The expected prize structure includes 80 prizes, including 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 25 C prizes and 40 Encouragement prizes.
According to Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Youth Union Do Cong Tuan, the Central Propaganda Department of the Youth Union will continue to advise the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union to direct and preside over, coordinate with relevant agencies and units to direct and guide the organization of extensive propaganda about the two contests on the Youth Union's press agency system and mass media, digital platforms, and websites of Youth Union, Association, and Team organizations at all levels.
