'I am sad because of my careless speech'

Runner-up Phuong Nhi will return to Vietnam on the afternoon of October 31. She stayed in Japan for 4 days after the Miss International 2023 final.

“I am excited and looking forward to the moment of returning to Vietnam to see my relatives again. I would like to personally thank everyone for following and supporting me on my journey,” Phuong Nhi said.

The moment Phuong Nhi was called into the top 15.

Speaking exclusively to Tien Phong , runner-up Phuong Nhi said she regretted not being able to bring better results to Vietnam. Although she stopped in the top 15, she felt that she had learned a lot through the contest. She thought this was a stepping stone for her to develop in the future.

Talking about the moment her name was called into the top 15, Phuong Nhi confided that she was happy when the two words "Vietnam" rang out.

“I felt the love that the domestic audience had for me through the video , shared on social networks. Especially the cheers of the people present in the stands at that time were a great source of encouragement for me,” Phuong Nhi said.

According to Phuong Nhi, the contest result was completely deserved. Phuong Nhi highly appreciated Miss Andrea Rubio – the representative from Venezuela. The new beauty queen was born in 1998, is a model, journalist, and fashion designer in her home country.

“The representative from Venezuela was always confident throughout the competition. She showed composure in the question and answer round and gave good, impressive answers. Meanwhile, 1st runner-up Sofía Osío – representative from Colombia impressed with her beauty. The representative from Peru was always enthusiastic in her activities, she had her own personality and attracted attention,” Phuong Nhi shared.

Speaking more about her statement during the Miss International 2023 contest, Phuong Nhi said she was sad because of her mistake.

“I sincerely thank the audience for their comments so that I know where I am lacking and how to change. I also received encouragement from everyone. The trust and love of the audience is the motivation for me to do my best in the competition,” she said.

Phuong Nhi shared that she had valuable experiences at this year's competition. "From the very first days, I met many friendly international friends. We spent nearly 20 days together and experienced the beauty of culture and tourism in Japan. We arranged flowers, did tea ceremony, made rice cakes, visited traditional factories..." , Phuong Nhi said.

Besides the top 15 final achievement, Phuong Nhi also received the title of Miss Visit Japan Ambassador.

“This title gives me the opportunity to meet leaders of provinces and cities in Japan and learn more about the culture and tourism here. The Miss International journey gives me many memories and lessons for me to develop and improve myself,” she confided.

Phuong Nhi said she will return to school and complete her studies after the contest. In addition, she will continue to improve in some fields such as acting, fashion, etc. with the desire to develop and work in the arts.
