On the afternoon of September 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a press conference to introduce the 12th Party Congress of the Army, term 2025-2030.

Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, chaired the press conference. Colonel Dau Trong Quang, Deputy Director of the Organization Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, informed at the press conference.

Speaking at the press conference, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy said that the motto of the Congress is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Steadfastness - Breakthrough - Development". The Congress has the task of summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Army, term 2020 - 2025 and determining the directions, goals, tasks, and leadership solutions for the term 2025 - 2030; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party; electing the Party Delegation of the Army to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Congress's theme is "Promoting the heroic tradition of the Army, building a clean, strong, exemplary, and representative Party organization, a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Army; enhancing national defense strength, firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, contributing to building a peaceful , prosperous, prosperous, civilized, and happy country".

Documents submitted to the Congress include: Political report of the Central Military Commission; Review report of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term; draft Resolution of the Congress; draft Action Program to implement the Resolution of the Congress; draft Working Regulations of the Congress; draft Working Program of the Congress.

The total number of official delegates attending the Congress is 450 comrades, of which 20 are ex-officio delegates and 430 delegates were elected from the congresses of 56 Party Committees under the Central Military Commission. Guests attending the Congress include Party and State leaders; former Party and State leaders; delegates of Central committees, ministries and branches; delegates of the Hanoi Party Committee, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Hanoi Capital Command Party Committee; former Ministers of National Defense, Directors of the General Department of Politics, Deputy Ministers of National Defense and members of the Central Military Commission...

Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy said that agencies and units across the army have launched a peak emulation campaign called "Raising the August Red Flag - Emulation to Win 3 Best" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, to welcome the 11th Army Emulation Congress and the 12th Army Party Congress (from July 10 to October 31).

The General Department of Politics also directed the Military Youth Committee to preside over the organization of the Youth Gala Program with the theme "Under the glorious Party flag - Echoing the song of victory" to welcome the Congress on the evening of September 28, at the Vietnam Military History Museum.

Along with that, the Army will organize an exhibition of nearly 700 images, documents, artifacts, products, and works to welcome the Congress in the hall and the space outside the hall of the Ministry of National Defense.

The exhibition booths have the participation of units such as the General Department of Defense Industry, the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, the Signal Corps, the Military Technical Academy, the Vietnam Military History Museum, the Military Library, and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group.

Answering reporters' questions about breakthroughs in the 12th Party Congress of the Army, term 2025-2030, Colonel Dau Trong Quang said that on the basis of thoroughly grasping the content of the Draft Documents of the 14th Party Congress and the practical tasks of building the Army, strengthening national defense, and protecting the Fatherland in the past term, the Party Committee of the Army focused on identifying 3 main breakthroughs:

Second, focus on developing high-quality human resources, promoting the attraction and use of talents, building a team of cadres to meet the requirements of building a modern army, improving the quality of regular construction, discipline management, and promoting the cultural values ​​of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period.
