President Mattarella meets the Italian women's volleyball team

Italian President Sergio Mattarella will host the Italian women's volleyball team at the Quirinal Palace in Rome on October 8.

This information was confirmed by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) on September 10. FIPAV President Giuseppe Manfredi and National Olympic Committee President Luciano Buonfiglio will also be present at this meeting.

The purpose of this meeting is to congratulate the Italian women's volleyball team on winning the world championship in Thailand on September 7.

Victory at the 2025 World Championship helped the Italian women's volleyball team set extremely impressive milestones.

In just 15 months, the Italian women's volleyball team has won four major titles, including the 2024 Nations League championship, the 2024 Paris Olympic gold medal, the 2025 Nations League championship and the world championship. The Italian women's volleyball team currently has an impressive record with 36 consecutive wins.

On September 10, the Italian women's volleyball team arrived at Malpensa Airport (Milano) and was welcomed like heroes by the press and fans. Although very tired after the long journey, the Italian women's volleyball team still happily took pictures and interacted with fans.
