On March 31, US President Donald Trump said he may visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Middle East next May.

This could be Mr. Trump's first foreign trip since returning to the White House for his second term on January 20.

President Trump revealed that the US will sign investment deals worth more than $1,000 billion with Saudi Arabia, including contracts to buy military equipment. Similar deals will also be signed in Qatar and the UAE, although specific details were not provided.

Previously, in January, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman promised to pour 600 billion USD to promote trade and investment with the US.

In addition to signing the investment agreement, some of the topics under discussion during President Trump's Middle East trip include the Hamas-Israel conflict and promoting Russia-Ukraine talks.

Saudi Arabia is now playing a prominent role in ceasefire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

During his first term, President Trump visited Saudi Arabia in his first year in office.

He built close ties with Saudi Arabia and pushed the Riyadh government to normalize relations with Israel as a foreign policy goal./.
