Implementing the Prime Minister 's direction on ensuring order and safety of railway traffic in the new situation, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City has just reported the situation and implementation results in the area.

Accordingly, the North-South railway line passing through Ho Chi Minh City is more than 23 km long, with 37 level crossings and 5 stations, including 2 self-opened passages in Tan Dong Hiep ward and Di An ward.
Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued many plans and directives, coordinated with the railway industry and functional forces to strengthen inspection, handle violations, remove obstructed views, add warning systems, signs and gradually handle self-opened paths.
However, the situation of violations of railway safety corridors remains complicated, with more than 40 encroachments and dozens of constructions affecting train safety. In addition, many sections of protective fences have degraded, some locations have not been invested in, posing potential safety risks.

Ho Chi Minh City recommends that the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Railway Authority promptly direct the maintenance, repair and completion of the fence system; at the same time, consider the investment policy to build a service road to completely handle the self-opened paths. The city also requires local authorities where the railway passes through to strengthen management, thoroughly reclaim the encroached land area and step up propaganda of the law, raising people's awareness of compliance.
