Awarding ceremony of the contest for ideas for planning cultural parks

(CLO) Within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024, on November 12, 2024, in Hanoi, the Award Ceremony of the Competition for Planning Ideas for a Multi-Functional Cultural Park in the Red River's Central and Coastal Sandbanks took place.

This is an important event organized under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Vietnam Association of Architects and the coordination of 4 districts: Hoan Kiem (host), Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Tay Ho, and Architecture Magazine.

The competition aims to find and honor creative design ideas, effectively exploiting land funds in the middle and alluvial areas along the Red River, in the area of ​​4 districts. This is an important part of the project "Developing the middle and alluvial areas along the Red River into a multi-functional cultural park", a major strategy of the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee on developing cultural spaces, improving the landscape and living environment of the Red River area.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Pham Tuan Long - Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee said that the floating area in the middle of the Red River bank is a significant land fund located in nature, contrasting with the cramped living space of the inner city area. This is also the only remaining space to create an attractive public, ecological and cultural space for the community and tourists for the Capital. With the consensus of the 4 districts of Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Tay Ho, Architecture Magazine and the direction of the City Party Committee, City People's Committee, Vietnam Association of Architects, the Planning Ideas Competition "Multi-functional Cultural Park in the floating area in the middle of the floating area and the Red River bank" was organized and we received many creative ideas.

We would like to thank the authors for their contributions and hope that we will soon have a cultural park in the heart of the capital, worthy of the region" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District added.

According to the Organizing Committee, the goal of the competition is to create a worthy cultural park, not only serving the needs of relaxation and entertainment, but also contributing to the economic , social and national security development of the area. Design ideas need to meet the requirements of exploiting the natural beauty of the Red River, creating a green, modern space, while promoting sustainable development, contributing to the formation of cultural and historical values ​​in the future.

The competition was launched on May 10, 2024 and has attracted the attention of experts and design consulting units at home and abroad. More than 30 participating plans were presented elaborately and seriously, making a strong impression on the Selection Council. After many rounds of review, the Council decided not to award the First Prize, selecting two Second Prizes and one Third Prize. The prizes were awarded to outstanding consulting units: Two Second Prizes were awarded to Hon Gai Architecture Company Limited (Code SH2030), Green Lungs Hanoi Joint Venture (Code GH0007); Third Prize was awarded to Encity - Siura Studio Consulting Joint Venture (Code ES0001).

According to the evaluation of the Selection Council, the award proposals all demonstrate in-depth research, reflect the spirit of creativity and practical application. However, these proposals need to be completed and researched more thoroughly to be implemented in the next stages of the project.

The exhibition is not only an opportunity for ideas to be widely introduced, but also a platform to connect investors and sponsors, creating motivation for creative initiatives to develop and apply in practice. These ideas contribute to building the capital Hanoi into a creative city, opening up development opportunities for the cultural and historical fields.
