The 3rd 'Beloved Teacher' Award: Sowing knowledge for a greener life

The contest attracted nearly 200 entries. The organizing committee selected 42 entries, which were also selected for the final round.

The works contribute to spreading the beautiful image of ferrymen, emphasizing the community's care and support for teachers.

This is also an opportunity to meet, show gratitude and honor outstanding teachers (characters in the contest entries) on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20.

Father holds his son's portrait to receive the award

Male student Thai Dang Nhat Tan with the work “Tiringly sowing love” won the encouragement prize of the contest. Not long after that, Nhat Tan suddenly passed away.

Wishing to comfort his son, early in the morning, Mr. Thai Van Mui (Nhat Tan's father) carried his son's portrait from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City to receive the award on his son's behalf.

Mr. Thai Van Mui shared: “My family was very sad when my child passed away, but today I feel somewhat comforted. My child passed away suddenly a few weeks after receiving his diploma. Before receiving the award, I also asked the organizers to bring my child's portrait. I asked the organizers to send the prize money to the fund for poor children.”

'Sow knowledge to make life greener'

Author Dang Hoang An – whose work “Disabled swimmer tirelessly spreads free letters” – confided: “I feel happy when sharing the story of my sister who works in the field of spreading letters to disadvantaged children in the locality. I hope to use this story to spread the message that teachers are spreading knowledge to make life greener.”

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - assessed that the contest has aroused the emotions of many generations of students about their teachers.

“Through the articles, we see the image of teachers who bring motivation for lifelong learning, and are examples for us to follow. AI and artificial intelligence pose many challenges to teachers, requiring teachers to research, innovate, and create to meet the expectations of society, parents, and students.

The portrait of a teacher in the digital age is both dynamic and modern but always keeps a loving heart and tolerance for students. Through the contest, the image of a teacher appears very beautiful, a teacher is a support, an inspiration, a dreamer and a fire-starter…” – Mr. Quoc shared.

7 excellent works and 4 typical teachers

The organizing committee awarded prizes to 7 excellent works and 4 outstanding teachers. Among them, there was 1 first prize (30 million VND), 1 second prize (20 million VND), 2 third prizes (15 million VND) and 3 consolation prizes (7 million VND).

First prize went to author Ngo Thi Thu Van with the work "The brave teacher".

Second prize went to author Dang Hoang An with the work 'Disabled swimmer diligently sows free words'.

Third prize went to Nguyen Thi Lanh (The person who sows dreams to change lives) and Tuyet Mai (Educator Nguyen Xuan Khang and projects for the community).

The encouragement prizes went to authors Ngo Thi Hue (Choosing a remote area to help poor students), Le Hoang Ngoc Thach (Remembering the teachers' love with tears), and Thai Dang Nhat Tan (Diligently sowing love).

Honoring outstanding teachers including Ms. Le Kim Phung, Nguyen Thi Sari, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang.

Among them, authors Ngo Thi Hue and Le Hoang Ngoc Thach, Nguyen Thi Lanh, three authors Nhan Tan, teacher Nguyen Xuan Khang have donated their prize money to the disadvantaged community.
