Awarding the decision to recognize the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education

(NLDO)- On the afternoon of March 4, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education announced the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on recognizing the school's principal.

Accordingly, Associate Professor - Dr. Le Hieu Giang was officially recognized as the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education for the 2020-2025 term.

Associate Professor - Dr. Le Hieu Giang (53 years old) is a former student of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. After graduating with a PhD in 2003 from Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic), Mr. Giang has been working at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education until now.

He was appointed to the title of Associate Professor in 2012 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. During his time working at the school, Mr. Giang has held the following positions: Deputy Head of the Department of Science Management - International Relations - Postgraduate, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Deputy Head of the Training Department, Vice Principal and Head of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Vice Principal and Head of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Before officially taking up the position of Principal, Associate Professor - Dr. Le Hieu Giang was assigned Acting Principal from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024, then continued to be assigned Acting Principal from October 2024 until his appointment.

Having held many working and leadership positions, from lecturer to Vice Principal in charge, Associate Professor - Dr. Le Hieu Giang is assessed to have a profound understanding of all areas of operation and development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

His understanding of the school, its culture and its people enables him to lead with empathy but decisiveness. This is demonstrated by the outstanding achievements during the period when the school did not have an official President, continuing to maintain its position as one of the leading universities in engineering and technology in Vietnam.

Currently, the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education includes: Dr. Truong Thi Hien - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Associate Professor - Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Principal; Vice Principals are Dr. Quach Thanh Hai, Associate Professor - Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh.
