On February 19, a representative of Traffic Police Team No. 5 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) said that the unit had summoned the Mazda CX5 driver who dragged the motorbike on Vinh Tuy Bridge.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of February 18, in the area in front of Long Bien Secondary School (in Long Bien ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi), there was a traffic collision between a Mazda CX5 car and a motorbike driven by Mr. DTT (born 2001, residing in Tu Son, Bac Ninh ), carrying his wife, Ms. NTTT (born 2001) and child DPN (born 2023), both residing at the above address.

After the collision, the driver did not stop but continued to drive away, dragging the motorbike on Vinh Tuy bridge towards Minh Khai (Hai Ba Trung district), for more than 4km.

The collision injured Mr. T. and his nephew N. The victims were taken to the emergency room. Mr. T. is now in stable condition and has been discharged from the hospital.

At 9:30 p.m. the same day, the family reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the information, Road Traffic Police Team No. 5 promptly verified and identified the car involved as having license plate 30E-908.XX. The driver of the vehicle was Mr. NLT (born in 1968, residing in Dong Da district, Hanoi).

On the morning of February 19, Traffic Police Team No. 5 summoned and asked the driver to bring the vehicle to headquarters to serve the investigation.

The authorities are verifying the image of the CX5 driver pushing a motorbike under his car for a long stretch of road in Hanoi after a traffic accident.
