Saigon University plans to increase tuition fees by 50% for non-pedagogical majors

Saigon University officially announced the regular university admission method in 2025, including information on admission to pedagogical majors.

4 admission methods in 2025

Saigon University officially announced the method of regular university admission in 2025. Accordingly, the school uses 4 admission methods.

Method 1: Direct admission and priority admission, subjects considered according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and according to the school's admission plan for 2025.

Method 2: Admission using the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam for majors not in the teacher training group.

Method 3: Admission using the results of the 2025 computer-based university entrance exam (V-SAT) for majors not in the teacher training group. Candidates can choose the highest exam score in the exams at schools authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training to submit the admission score. The combination of subjects for admission to majors is according to the school's regulations.

Method 4: Admission using the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Subject combinations for admission to majors according to school regulations.

Special regulations on English certificates and aptitude tests

This year, the school recruits 5,220 students. Of which, some teacher training majors (pedagogy) recruit many students such as: preschool education (200 students), primary education (200 students), English pedagogy (120 students)... On the contrary, many pedagogy majors only recruit 10 students such as: physics pedagogy, chemistry pedagogy, biology pedagogy...

Regarding the use of English certificates in admission, Saigon University stipulates that candidates with English certificates will have their incentive points added to their total admission score for method 2. For methods 3 and 4, if the admission subject combination includes English, the school will convert the English certificate score into the admission score for this subject; If the combination does not include English, incentive points will be added to the total admission score. The certificate must be issued within a period of no more than 2 years from June 30, 2025 and by units licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training to organize the exam.

For aptitude tests, candidates applying for music education, fine arts education, and preschool education must register and take the university entrance aptitude test organized by the school. For admission to fine arts education, the school also uses the aptitude test results of the following schools: Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Vietnam University of Fine Arts, Hanoi University of Architecture, University of Industrial Fine Arts, and Central University of Art Education. Candidates can choose the highest test result among the schools to apply for admission.

What are the tuition fees for each major?

Regarding tuition fees, majors in the teacher training group are entitled to tuition and living expense support policies according to Decree 116/2020/ND-CP of the Government. (Educational management is not part of the teacher training group).

Tuition fees for non-pedagogical majors are expected to increase by 50% according to the school's autonomy plan. Specific tuition fees are as follows:

Also according to the announcement of Saigon University, students of mass training programs (excluding teacher training programs) with academic results in the group of 12% of the best students in the industry will enjoy a tuition exemption of up to 100% of tuition fees and study encouragement scholarships. The corresponding regime for each group of 3%, 4%, 5% is ranked from high to low academic results, considered by each semester and current regulations of the school. Students who are directly admitted will be exempted from tuition fees in the first year (including high-quality programs). From the second year, tuition exemption and scholarships will be implemented according to general regulations.
