From tonight (October 20) to the coming days, the cold air mass from the north will strengthen, making the North cold at night and morning, sunny during the day, and cold in the mountainous areas. Today, Nghe An to the South Central Coast will continue to have scattered rain, but less intense than in previous days.

The cold air is getting stronger, affecting the Northeast and North Central regions, then affecting some places in the Northwest and North Central regions. Inland, the wind changes to Northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

Due to the influence of cold air, from the night of October 20 to the coming days, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will experience cold weather at night and in the morning, with light sunshine in the afternoon, and cold in the mountainous areas.

The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa is generally 19-21 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North 17-19 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas in some places below 16 degrees Celsius.

Before the cold weather, today in the North there will be little rain, sunny in the afternoon, northeast wind level 2-3, especially in coastal areas level 3-4. The highest temperature during the day is from 28-31 degrees.

Forecast for the day and night of October 20, the area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai, coastal areas from Gia Lai to Dak Lak will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 20-50mm, some places will have heavy rain over 90mm.

The Southern region will also have scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight with rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 70mm. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
