Overview of September Press Conference of the Ministry of Science and Technology .
On September 26 in Hanoi, at the regular September press conference, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially announced the plan to organize Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 (VIDW 2025). This is the fourth time the event has been held and has become one of the most prestigious annual forums on digital transformation in the region.
In 2025, under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, VIDW continues to affirm its role as a strategic connection platform, bringing together policymakers, international organizations, experts and leading technology enterprises. Topic Vietnam International Digital Week 2025: "AI Institution" emphasizes the pioneering role of policy and institutional frameworks in leading the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI), towards sustainable growth and international integration.
Referring to the field of artificial intelligence, at the Workshop "Unlimited power and unpredictable challenges of artificial intelligence" on September 15, 2025, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that AI is an intellectual infrastructure, not just an applied technology, but is becoming a type of national infrastructure, like electricity, telecommunications or the Internet. Vietnam will quickly build a national AI supercomputing center and open shared AI data, will implement "AI" as "electrification", but will AI faster, popularize AI as a movement of "AI popular education" so that every citizen has a digital assistant.
According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, the AI Strategy, first issued in 2021, will be updated, along with the AI Law, becoming a declaration of national vision. Vietnam will develop AI based on open standards, open source code - open to develop and master technology, open to Make in Vietnam and also to contribute to humanity. The Minister pointed out that it is not only about "AI application" but also about "AI transformation", that is, comprehensively restructuring the operations of organizations, industries and countries based on artificial intelligence, to create new capacities in management, production, innovation and sustainable development.

Regarding the Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 (VIDW 2025), the representative of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology said that this year's Vietnam International Digital Week event is designed according to the 1+6 structure, including a Ministerial roundtable session + 6 key topics including: 5G, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, digital human resources and digital technology enterprises to promote technology commercialization, expand regional - global cooperation and shape a sustainable digital ecosystem.
In addition, at Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 (VIDW 2025), there will also be technology demonstrations, bilateral meetings and cultural and diplomatic activities contributing to promoting the image of Ninh Binh to international friends, the province promotes economic and tourism development associated with sustainable development based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. It is expected that there will be 500 - 1,000 delegates, including senior leaders of international organizations (International Telecommunication Union - ITU, United Nations, ASEAN, World Bank - WB, European Union - EU, Asia-Pacific Telecommunication Union - APT ...), Ministers of ASEAN countries, Africa and strategic partners such as Australia, Korea, the United States, and leaders of global technology corporations such as Starlink, Qualcomm, SK, Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Viettel ...
Within the framework of the event, conferences, workshops and forums will be held to propose policy recommendations, cooperation initiatives and strategic orientations, serving as a basis for Vietnam and its partners to build new cooperation mechanisms in the region and internationally. This result contributes to consolidating Vietnam's leading role in digital cooperation, expanding strategic technology cooperation, and enhancing the innovation and integration capacity of digital technology enterprises. Connecting with corporations and strategic partners will create momentum for product commercialization, core technology development and international brand building. In the long term, the results achieved will promote digital infrastructure and sustainable digital transformation, the innovation ecosystem and the digital-green economy, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals and enhancing Vietnam's position in the digital age./.
