Vung Ang - Bung Expressway is expected to be put into operation on August 28.

(Baohatinh.vn) - The Vung Ang - Bung expressway project connecting Ha Tinh - Quang Tri has been opened to traffic and will be put into operation on August 28. The project has a total investment of 12,548 billion VND.

The Ministry of Construction has just released a plan to exploit the main route of the Vung Ang - Bung section of the North - South Expressway construction project in the Eastern region in the 2021-2025 period.

After two and a half years of construction, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway connecting Ha Tinh and Quang Tri provinces opened to traffic on August 19.

On August 19, Project Management Board 6 organized the technical opening of the Vung Ang - Bung section of the North - South Eastern Expressway construction project in the 2021-2025 period.

On that basis, the Ministry of Construction has proposed a plan to exploit the main route of the component project, the Vung Ang - Bung section, expected to start from August 28.

Deo But Tunnel on the Vung Ang - Bung highway through Ha Tinh has basically completed construction and is preparing to be put into operation.

Specifically, vehicles are exploited on the route from the North connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section component project (route about Km 568+200) to the South connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh section component project (route about Km 625+000), with a length of about 55.34 km and passing through 2/2 intersections including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (route about Km 597+900), National Highway 12A intersection (route about Km 605+500).

Rest stop at Km 594+400 (located on both sides of the highway). The Ministry of Construction selected the investor for the rest stop in March 2025. Currently, the investor is organizing the construction of the rest stop according to regulations.

The Ministry of Construction is also directing Project Management Board 6 to urgently complete the remaining items of the Vung Ang - Bung section project, including the service road system; intelligent traffic control system and other works.

The Vung Ang - Bung Expressway put into operation contributes to promoting socio-economic development of the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Tri .

The Vung Ang - Bung section project, part of the North - South Eastern Expressway construction project for the 2021-2025 period, was started in January 2023, with a total investment of VND12,548 billion. To date, the main route of this project has been basically completed.

The project starts at Km 658+200, in Ky Tan commune, old Ky Anh district (now Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province) connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section project; the end point is about Km 624+228.79 in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province (now Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province) connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh section project. In which, there are 2 interconnecting intersections including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (route about Km 597+900), National Highway 12A intersection (route about Km 605+500). The open route has a length of about 55.34 km.
