Commendation of typical advanced models in humanitarian work

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of June 26, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross Society held a conference to commend typical examples in humanitarian work for the 2020-2025 period.

Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Duc Khai, member of the Standing Committee, Chief of the Central Office of the Vietnam Red Cross Society .

On the side of Thanh Hoa province, there were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Quang Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and units in the province.

Implementing the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh : "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, and those who emulate are the most patriotic", over the past 5 years, the Associations at all levels in the province have strived, overcome all difficulties, effectively organized emulation movements in humanitarian work, successfully completed assigned tasks, clearly demonstrated the core role, bridge and coordination in humanitarian activities. The total value of emulation movements in the past 5 years reached 395 billion VND, helping over 1 million people; an increase of over 50 billion VND compared to the period 2015-2020.

The Association has paid attention to building the Association's organization, improving the quality of its members and volunteers. Currently, the whole province has 729 Red Cross Associations at the commune, ward, town and equivalent levels, 100% of secondary and primary schools have an Association, with a total of 59,100 active members, 127 volunteer clubs and 8,776 core volunteers.

The “Humanitarian Tet” movement is implemented annually and has always received the support of the people. Over the past 5 years, the Association at all levels has mobilized, received and organized the giving of 328,115 Tet gifts to the poor, Agent Orange victims and those in especially difficult circumstances with a total value of 139.59 billion VND.

Responding to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one left behind", the Provincial Red Cross Society has donated 211 breeding cows to households in especially difficult circumstances, worth 2.85 billion VND; mobilized support to build 276 "Red Cross" houses, repaired 43 unsafe houses; built 2 schools for students in mountainous areas and 12 clean water works for poor people, with a total support value of 14.64 billion VND.

The voluntary blood donation movement has truly become an annual movement of the Association at all levels, spreading widely in sectors, agencies, units and each family. Over the past 5 years, the whole province has received nearly 221,000 units of blood, with a total value of over 46 billion VND, an increase of 28% compared to the period 2015-2020.

At the conference, delegates shared experiences in propaganda, advocacy, resource mobilization, and organizing humanitarian and charitable activities.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the contributions, efforts and outstanding achievements that the Provincial Red Cross at all levels have achieved in humanitarian activities.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the period of 2025-2030, the Association should continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promote patriotic emulation movements; build an increasingly strong, professional, modern Association, truly a core force in humanitarian work.

Each cadre and member needs to fully and deeply understand their position and role in humanitarian and charitable activities, and promote their core and coordinating role in these activities.

Individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.

On this occasion, Thanh Hoa province had 2 individuals awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 7 individuals and 5 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing patriotic emulation movements in the period 2020-2025.

Many Red Cross officials and volunteers were honored with the titles "Good people, good deeds"; outstanding association officials and exemplary Red Cross members.

At the conference, representatives of the Red Cross Society launched the emulation movement for the 2025-2030 period.
