In Huong Pho and Huong Do communes, nearly 420 trainees, including officials, members, volunteers and local people, were provided with important knowledge and equipped with necessary skills by the Provincial Red Cross Society such as: prevention, response and adaptation to climate change; first aid in the community; instructions on using water filter packages, preserving clean water sources and environmental sanitation after natural disasters, etc.

Provincial Red Cross officials instruct people in Huong Pho commune on how to preserve water resources and treat the environment after natural disasters.
With the "hands-on" method and the use of vivid visual images, the training sessions attracted active participation and interaction from the people.
The organizers also distributed 24,000 free water purification powder packages from the relief fund of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee (worth more than 21 million VND) to help local people improve the quality of water sources in emergency situations when natural disasters occur.

People are equipped with knowledge and skills to survive in natural disasters and provided with chemicals to treat the environment.
Mr. Ha Van Dan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Huong Pho Commune said: "Our people are located in an area that is often affected by storms, droughts, etc., so training programs like this are very necessary and useful, helping people gain more scientific knowledge to handle situations. This is an important skill for the community to respond to and minimize risks and damage when natural disasters occur."
Since the beginning of 2025, the Provincial Red Cross has organized 14 training courses in coastal and mountainous communes frequently affected by natural disasters with more than 1,500 participants.

Household goods boxes with full utensils and food to ensure essential living needs during the period of isolation due to natural disasters were distributed by the Provincial Red Cross to people in high-risk areas.
The training program has practical and useful contents, prioritizing first aid skills, clean water treatment and environmental sanitation; associated with the "4 on-site" motto (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site means and materials; on-site logistics) to help local officials and people maximize their initial response capacity in emergency situations.
Along with that, the Provincial Red Cross has supported 400 boxes of household goods (ensuring essential living needs during isolation due to natural disasters); distributed 110 life jackets, tens of thousands of water treatment powder packages.

The provincial Red Cross reviewed disaster prevention equipment to be proactive in emergency situations.
At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to regularly check and review distributed equipment, promote continuous propaganda before, during and after the rainy and stormy season, and create a widespread community safety network.
Mr. Dang The Quy - a resident of Thien Cam commune shared: "Living in a coastal area, often affected by storms, when participating in training courses on natural disaster response organized by the Provincial Red Cross, people learned how to give first aid to wounds, filter clean water and keep themselves and the community safe. When the storm season comes, we also feel more secure and proactive in prevention."

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Viet - Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society said: "Natural disasters are becoming more and more complicated, with many types such as lightning, earthquakes, tsunamis, forest fires, droughts, etc. If people only rely on experience, it will be difficult to respond effectively. Therefore, training and updating new knowledge and skills are extremely necessary to help people improve their adaptive capacity. This is also one of the key contents of the work program, which we implement according to the motto "Proactive - timely - effective - safe". Thereby, spreading the spirit of proactive prevention, contributing to minimizing risks and safely adapting to climate change".
With proactive preparation and timely knowledge and skills, cadres, members and people of Ha Tinh are more steadfast when facing storms, contributing to building a safe community that can flexibly adapt to all natural disaster situations.
