Propaganda and implementation of the establishment of the Sustainable Aquaculture Club

On July 12, in Tien Yen district, a conference was held to promote, mobilize and establish the Sustainable Aquaculture Club. This is a cooperation program between the Center for Supporting Farmers and Rural Areas (Central Vietnam Farmers' Union), the Farmers' Union of Quang Ninh province and the High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company with the participation of 50 farmer households raising shrimp on a large scale in Mong Cai, Dam Ha and Tien Yen.

At the conference, delegates listened to representatives of the Center for Supporting Farmers and Rural Areas and the High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company inform about the purpose, significance of establishment, structure and organization of the Sustainable Aquaculture Club; the main activities of the Club; the rights and obligations of members and answer questions about the biological balance shrimp farming process, how to effectively "cut algae" in shrimp ponds.

By joining the Sustainable Aquaculture Club, members will be trained in transferring shrimp farming according to the biological balance process; receive a membership card worth 5 million VND and a golden handbook for shrimp farming; participate in activities, exchange and share shrimp farming experiences; support in handling 35 common emergency risk situations 24/7, check 13 water indicators... Through the establishment of the Club, it contributes to gradually forming a responsible shrimp farming community, linking the goal of developing shrimp farming with the goal of protecting the environment and sustainable ecosystems; directly supporting shrimp farmers to reduce input costs by 25-30%; developing a biological balance shrimp farming model, not using chemicals harmful to the environment: Chlorine, BKC and antibiotics - towards the goal of raising shrimp to ASC standards.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Pham Tien Nam said that the establishment of the Sustainable Aquaculture Club aims to affirm and promote the role of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 46 - NQ/TW dated December 20, 2023 of the Politburo on innovation and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period; Resolution of the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, term 2023 - 2028. At the same time, he requested the High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company to closely coordinate with the Quang Ninh Farmers' Union, the Center for Support of Farmers and Rural Areas, to help shrimp farmers access the most convenient technologies and services, to propose solutions to ensure reduced input costs, increased profits, and to meet domestic and foreign needs; to operate the Club in accordance with the local situation, so that the Club operates effectively and practically.
