Entering the new crop season, across the fields, farmers in Quang Ninh are busy plowing the land, sowing, and enthusiastically working with the expectation of a good and productive crop.

Mr. Vi Van Toan's family (Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district) focuses on growing acacia.

Taking advantage of favorable weather, Mr. Vi Van Toan's family (Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district) is concentrating human resources to replant the acacia area that was damaged from last year. Each person has a part to do, some dig holes, some put fertilizer, place trees... very quickly, more than 1,000 hybrid acacia trees have been newly planted. Mr. Toan said: My family has 3 workers, and we have borrowed 8 more relatives and neighbors. Planting acacia is most suitable when there is spring rain, moist soil, the trees will quickly take root, so the family is also working hard to complete the planting area.

In this year's spring crop, Mrs. Pham Thi Xanh's family (Co To town, Co To district) planted more than 1 acre of TBR97 rice. According to Mrs. Xanh, this is a rice variety that is resistant to pests and diseases and has high yields. Last year, her family planted and got good yields, so this year they continued to choose to plant the spring crop.

The entire Co To district will plant about 90 hectares in the spring crop this year. To ensure a successful crop, farmers have increased care, covered the seedlings to avoid the wind, ensured good growth of the seedlings, prevented pests and unusual weather changes. At the same time, they carried out field sanitation, soil preparation, transplanting and plant care.

According to the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop production plan, the total annual crop planting area in the province is expected to be 32,853 hectares. Of which, the spring crop planting area is 24,825 hectares. Particularly, the total spring rice planting area in the province is expected to be 14,440 hectares, focusing mainly on high-yield and high-quality varieties such as Dai Thom 8, Thien Uu 8, TBR225... Up to now, the whole province has planted/sown more than 2,470 hectares, over 160 hectares of spring seedlings; 100% of the seedling area is covered with plastic. The goal is that by the first half of March, the whole province will basically complete the spring rice planting, and proceed with planting other crops.

Mr. Bui Van Dao (Quang Chinh commune, Hai Ha district) weeds and fertilizes his family's sapodilla garden.

In addition to planting and cultivating, farmers are also actively taking care of the existing crop area. These days, Mr. Bui Van Dao's family (Quang Chinh commune, Hai Ha district) is actively weeding, fertilizing, and mounding the roots of nearly 300 sapodilla trees of the family. In the past few years, thanks to the sapodilla growing model, his family has had an additional income of about 50-60 million VND. Mr. Dao said: For the trees that are bearing fruit, I take care of them and fertilize them periodically. For the new crop of trees that have not yet reached the fruiting stage, in addition to weeding, mounding, and pruning, I also have to remove flowers and young fruits to ensure the tree is nourished.

Along with planting and tending, in many localities, farmers are also actively working on irrigation, field sanitation, and dredging of internal canals to ensure irrigation.
