Saigon Jewelry Company Limited traded SJC gold bars at 79.8 - 82.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), down 1.2 million VND/tael each way compared to the end of April 22.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited, SJC gold price is listed at 80.15 - 82.25 million VND/tael (buy - sell), meanwhile, as of the end of April 22, gold price was traded at 81.15 - 83.4 million VND/tael (buy and sell).
Doji Gold and Gemstone Group listed the price of gold bars of the same brand at 79.6 million VND/tael (buy) and 82.1 million VND/tael (sell), down 500,000 VND/tael (buy) and 1.35 million VND/tael (sell) compared to April 22.
Previously, the gold auction scheduled for the morning of April 22 was canceled and will be held on the morning of April 23. The State Bank of Vietnam will auction SJC gold bars with a total volume of 16,800 taels. The volume of gold bars in a transaction lot is 100 taels/lot. The bidding method is price bidding. Bidding units will have to deposit 10%. Reference price to calculate the deposit value: 80.70 million VND/tael.
In the trading session on the night of April 22, the world gold price fell by more than 2%, down to 2,330.51 USD/ounce. By nearly 9:00 a.m. on April 23, the gold price continued to fall to 2,308 USD/ounce, equivalent to about 11.1 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price. The gold price fell sharply due to the wave of profit-taking by investors. Many economic experts said that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have eased, causing selling pressure in the market to increase.
The central exchange rate on April 23 announced by the State Bank of Vietnam was 24,275 VND/USD, an increase of 3 VND compared to the previous trading session. The USD price at commercial banks on the morning of April 23 was listed at 25,145 VND/USD (buy) and 25,485 VND/USD (sell).
