SJC gold bars and gold rings both decreased

(NLDO) – Gold prices today fell sharply in both domestic and world markets after Mr. Donald Trump officially took office in the US.

At the beginning of the week, on January 20, SJC gold bar price was listed by SJC Company at 84.7 million VND/tael for buying and 86.7 million VND/tael for selling, down 200,000 VND/tael compared to the end of last week.

PNJ Company sold SJC gold bars at the same price of 86.7 million VND, while Bao Tin Minh Chau and Mi Hong decreased more sharply when selling at 86.65 million VND/tael.

Last week, the price of gold fluctuated strongly. There was a time when the price of gold reached 87.3 million VND/tael, and at other times it decreased to 86.4 million VND/tael. In terms of buying, the price of gold bars varied among businesses, in which the highest buying price at Mi Hong was 85.5 million VND/tael.

Similarly, the price of gold rings and jewelry of all kinds also decreased, even at a stronger rate. SJC Company traded gold rings at 84.4 million VND/tael for purchase and 86.1 million VND/tael for sale, a loss of 800,000 VND/tael compared to the end of last week. This is a very sharp decrease in the price of gold rings in recent days.

Domestic gold prices fell as the international gold price today reversed and fell below the 2,700 USD/ounce mark. At 9:00 a.m. Vietnam time, today's gold price was at 2,694 USD/ounce, down about ten USD/ounce compared to the previous session.

The price of gold has been quite surprising. Analysts and investors had previously predicted that the precious metal would continue to rise this week when Donald Trump officially takes office and returns to the White House on January 20.

However, experts say that fluctuations in gold prices in the coming time will be difficult to predict because they depend on the specific management policies of the US President, including tariff policies with other countries...

The USD index this morning on the international market fell to around 109 points, in line with the downward trend of gold prices.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 83 million VND/tael.
