The beauty of Lan Ha Bay attracts the wives and husbands of delegates attending the ABAC III Conference.

On July 17, during the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III) program taking place in Hai Phong, the spouses and accompanying people of the delegates visited Lan Ha Bay, Cat Ba Island, a scenic spot in Cat Hai special zone, Hai Phong.

The group visited and experienced the majestic natural scenery of Cat Ba, known as the “green pearl” of the Gulf of Tonkin with the wild and majestic beauty of mountains and forests blending with the ocean. The population on the island is about 18,000 people, working mainly in two fields: providing tourism services and aquaculture and fishing.

Cat Ba Island owns Lan Ha Bay with 366 large and small islands, 136 beautiful, pristine beaches. The bay was recognized as a World Natural Heritage since 2023. Along with Lan Ha Bay, Cat Ba also owns Cat Ba National Park, recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve since 2004.

The group visited “Cai Beo Floating Fishing Village”, one of the floating fishing villages with a long history of development, once known as the cradle of ancient Vietnamese culture. Then continued to move to the central area of ​​Lan Ha Bay. In Lan Ha Bay, there are hundreds of rocky islands with various shapes depending on the imagination of visitors such as: Hon Guoc, Hon But, Hon Con Rua, Hon Bu Nau, Hon Tai Keo, But Day… Each small island in the bay carries its own story, captivating by its cultural depth.

Ms. Flavia Bueno, a member of the tour group from Peru, said that she was very excited to visit Lan Ha Bay. This place has a wild, natural and peaceful beauty. After returning to Peru, she will introduce Lan Ha Bay in particular and Hai Phong in general to her friends and relatives and she herself will continue to return to Hai Phong if she has the opportunity.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, said that the visit of the wife, husband and members accompanying the delegates to the APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting to Lan Ha Bay is an honor for Hai Phong City. This is an opportunity for the special guests to learn about the landscape and value of the UNESCO-recognized inter-provincial World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago.
