According to the list updated by the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training , the 4 new names are VinUni, Lac Hong, Hoa Sen and Vietnam-Japan University, Hanoi National University.
The remaining 12 schools include the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Hanoi University of Civil Engineering; National Economics ; Ton Duc Thang University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Van Lang University; British University of Vietnam (BUV); University of Science and Technology, Danang University; Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH); International University and Polytechnic University of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, up to now, the country has 200 higher education institutions recognized as meeting domestic quality standards. The number of schools recognized as meeting international standards has also increased from 11 to 16 schools.
Regarding training programs, the total number of accredited programs also increased sharply, from 1,917 to 2,609 programs. Of which, the number of programs recognized as meeting domestic standards increased from 1,373 to 1,915, and the number of programs recognized as meeting international standards increased from 544 to 694.
Notably, in 2025, Vietnam achieved its most outstanding achievement ever with 9 higher education institutions listed in THE World University Rankings.
The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the increase in the number of facilities and programs accredited to international standards shows a clear direction in improving the quality of training, aiming for deep integration with regional and world education. According to representatives of many schools, accreditation helps increase prestige, identify strengths and weaknesses to have a plan to improve quality.
