Vietnam - Cuba strengthen comprehensive cooperation

On October 31 in Hanoi , Mr. Vu Hai Ha, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, President of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association, President of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Parliamentarians Group received Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén.

At the meeting, Mr. Vu Hai Ha said that the political relations between the two countries have been continuously developing well, demonstrated through the regular exchange of high-level delegations between the two sides. In particular, the visit to Cuba last September by General Secretary To Lam achieved positive results with many specific solutions to strengthen the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. The two sides issued a Joint Statement on strengthening the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the new period.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai also visited and chaired the first meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Havana. The two sides exchanged experiences and promoted cooperation in the fields of economics , finance, science and technology, energy and health.

Mr. Vu Hai Ha said that many contents and results of the two visits are being actively implemented, demonstrating the determination of the two countries in fostering this special friendship.

Mr. Vu Hai Ha also acknowledged the efforts and contributions of Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén during his term, contributing to important milestones in the relationship between the two countries. He believes that the Vietnam - Cuba relationship will continue to develop deeply and effectively in the coming time.

Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén expressed his honor to be assigned by the Cuban Party and State to be the Ambassador to Vietnam. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, National Assembly and agencies of Vietnam for their support and creating favorable conditions for him to fulfill his duties in Vietnam. He said that the Cuban side is actively urging and implementing the specific cooperation contents agreed upon by the two sides' senior leaders. In the coming time, Vietnam and Cuba will increase delegation exchanges to specify the contents of the cooperation agreements between the two sides, demonstrating the determination of the two countries' Parties and States to further strengthen the comprehensive and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
