Viettel personnel were mobilized to respond throughout the night until morning at hot spots.

In Ha Tinh , Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, the provinces heavily affected by storm No. 10, the rate of information interruption of Viettel's broadcasting stations has decreased to an average of less than 8%. Meanwhile, in Ninh Binh, the province heavily affected by the tornado, this figure is only less than 2%, the basic signal has been completely restored.

Fast signal recovery, ensuring communication

Viettel has mobilized more than 100 rescue teams from its branches, bringing the total number of rescue teams nationwide to nearly 600, equivalent to nearly 1,500 personnel. All are assigned according to their expertise including BTS stations, transmission, electromechanical, fixed telecommunications... Thanks to that, the signal restoration progress has been accelerated, ensuring communication to serve the direction and operation of the government as well as the communication needs of the people.

When the storm passed, hundreds of BTS stations in Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh lost power, many cable lines were damaged by strong winds and floods. Technical teams had to operate generators on site, transport fuel by specialized vehicles, and even walk for hours through flooded and landslide areas to reach the stations, ensuring continuous signals.

In Thanh Hoa, nearly 900 stations lost power at one point, but by the afternoon of September 30, more than 90% of the stations were back in operation. In Ha Tinh, mountainous communes were reached in time. In another heavily affected location, Ninh Binh, thanks to an effective rescue plan, the signal has been basically restored.

Many policies to support customers in flood-affected areas

In parallel with infrastructure restoration work, Viettel has also deployed many measures to support customers in affected areas. Stores, technical stations and staff houses are used as free battery charging points.

Thanks to the continuous and timely response, Ninh Binh, the area heavily affected by storm Bualoi, has had its signal completely restored.

More than 73,000 customers in the flooded areas of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, and Ha Tinh have had 20,000 VND (equivalent to nearly 1.5 billion VND) added to their accounts to make calls for 5 days. A policy of post-paid subscribers being suspended from calling for 40,000 customers has also been implemented to help people feel secure during the storm.

As early as September 28, before typhoon Bualoi made landfall, Viettel held an urgent meeting, deployed a comprehensive response plan, activated the "4 on-site" mechanism and put the entire system in the highest state of readiness. Broadcasting stations in coastal areas were inspected and reinforced; thousands of generators, batteries, and backup fiber optic cables were arranged for timely replacement in case of problems.

The monitoring system uses artificial intelligence and the upgraded PCTT 3.0 platform, allowing real-time network diagram display, automatically alerting stations of power outages, cable breaks or transmission problems. Thanks to that, rescue teams quickly identify and prioritize hot spots, significantly shortening recovery time.

A representative of Viettel Group said that telecommunications is an essential infrastructure, of special importance in natural disaster prevention and rescue work. Therefore, no matter how harsh the conditions are, Viettel is still determined to ensure that no area is isolated in terms of information when storms and floods occur.
