Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant opens bottom spillway gate No. 8

To ensure the safety of the project, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company plans to open the 8th bottom spillway gate. The expected opening time of the 8th bottom spillway gate is 10:30 a.m. on September 30. The total discharge flow is about 5,698 m3/s; the corresponding downstream water level after the project is 63.26 m.

According to Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company, due to the complicated water flow to Tuyen Quang Lake, the opening time may be earlier or later than expected.

To minimize the damage caused by flood discharge from hydroelectric reservoirs in the province, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province requests the People's Committees of wards, communes and relevant agencies and units to urgently notify and direct the implementation of measures to ensure safety for people and property when Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoirs discharge flood to people, organizations operating on rivers and riverbanks; aquaculture facilities, and water transport vehicles.

Communes, wards and relevant departments and branches organize 24/7 duty to receive and promptly handle all possible situations, prepare necessary materials and means, deploy safety measures when flood waters rise, ferry terminals; review and ensure safe implementation of projects under construction; sand and gravel mining and transfer activities, absolutely not allowing unfortunate damage to people and property.
