Honoring typical examples of will and determination

On September 30, the Hanoi Blind Association held a conference to honor advanced models for the 2020-2025 period, launching emulation for the 2025-2030 period. Through stories about visually impaired people overcoming their fate, succeeding in studying, working, and producing, we further appreciate the value of will and determination, and appreciate people who are constantly striving to improve, living a useful life, and spreading a beautiful, positive lifestyle in the community.

With a dignified and confident demeanor, young man Tran Anh Tuan (member of the Cau Giay Inter-ward Blind Association) immediately brings a feeling of stability and trust, even to those who meet him for the first time. This young man born in 1993 is currently one of the owners of prestigious massage brands for the visually impaired. His blind massage facility Tam Anh (house number 104, lane 215, To Hieu, Hanoi ) was established in 2021. Overcoming countless difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, up to now, this facility has been operating stably. Talking to a reporter of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Tran Anh Tuan proudly shared: "I can now take care of myself, at the same time, the greatest happiness for me is that the income of my fellow blind employees at the facility is currently averaging from 8 to 10 million VND".

For a long time, massage has been considered a key profession and has the participation of a large number of blind people. According to statistics at the Hanoi Blind Association, there are currently over 150 massage establishments of the association and its members in the area, and to stand firm in the market and maintain the trust of customers, the establishments have regularly upgraded their facilities and invested in improving their skills. Sharing his successful experience at his facility, Tran Anh Tuan happily said: “The initial success of our facility only focuses on 4 factors. First is having a team of skilled technicians, ready to work stably and long-term. Second is always ensuring the hygiene of equipment and infrastructure. Third is regularly implementing attractive promotional programs to care for and show gratitude to customers. Finally, always listen to feedback to continuously improve the service. The key message I want to convey to people in the same situation is that you should constantly strive and persevere, you will definitely have worthy results.”

Be an active and responsible member of society

Also honored and awarded at the program on September 30, Nguyen Thao Dan, born in 2000, living on Thai Ha street (Hanoi) is one of the typical young blind people participating in social activities.

Having just graduated from the Faculty of Social Work of the Vietnam Youth Academy, Thao Dan is the only blind youth in the capital to be appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the residential area. She is currently the Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Residential Area No. 20 , Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Dong Da Ward. Young and beautiful, this girl is a powerful singer, formally trained at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. She is currently a member of the band Nang Moi, performing weekly on the Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street (Hanoi).

Her eyes cannot see, but Thao Dan's life is always colorful, vibrant, attractive and warm. She actively participates in school and local activities, organizes Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival for children, participates in voluntary blood donation movements...

She is also participating in many diverse projects to promote the strengths of the visually impaired, and this weekend, she will be in Sin Suoi Ho ( Lai Chau ) to inspire, participate in activities that bring joy and motivation to children in difficult circumstances here. "I want to convey the message that despite all shortcomings, consider yourself an active and responsible member of society, you will always be given the opportunity to do wonderful things" - Thao Dan shared.

Blind people like Tran Anh Tuan and Nguyen Thao Dan often do not want to talk much about the hardships they have experienced. Through concrete actions, they show that blind people, despite having a disadvantaged starting point compared to normal people, can completely create a positive, joyful and inspiring life.

Vice President in charge of the Hanoi Blind Association Hoang Manh Cuong shared: The spirit of overcoming difficulties, the perseverance and tenacity of many blind people have helped them create success in life. Among the members of the Hanoi Blind Association, there are blind people who are journalists, business owners, farm owners, creating jobs for people with disabilities and their families. There are also many blind teachers, musicians, singers who make life more beautiful, or young blind people who are determined to study not only in the country but also abroad in developed countries, realizing their dream of conquering the peak of knowledge, becoming bachelors and masters and then returning to their homeland to help the community and people with disabilities. Along with that are dedicated, dynamic, creative association officials who support members in their integration journey... These exemplary individuals have, together with the Hanoi Blind Association, actively contributed to the overall development of the beloved capital in particular and the whole society in general.

At the Conference to commend advanced models in the period of 2020-2025, launching emulation in the period of 2025-2030, the Hanoi Blind Association commended typical collectives, including: Inter-ward and inter-commune Blind Associations of Ba Dinh , Cau Giay, Dong Da, Ha Dong , Tay Ho, Thanh Xuan ; Dong Anh , Hoai Duc , My Duc . Along with that are 28 typical individuals of will and determination - examples of overcoming fate, success in studying, working, and production .
