VN-Index decreased by more than 5 points

This morning, the market increased for most of the trading time but the increase was not strong, at most only 5 points. At the end of the morning trading time, VN-Index increased slightly by 1.23 points, to 1,286.55 points.

The market remained green thanks to support from key stocks of the banking, real estate, and securities groups.

In the afternoon session, buyers were cautious while sellers pushed up selling, causing many stocks to fall in price, the VN-Index returned to the reference level and lost points. At the end of the session, VN-Index stopped at 1,280.02 points, down 5.3 points (-0.41%); VN30-Index decreased 2.55 points (-0.19%), down to 1,318.6 points.

Declining stocks dominated with 259 stocks going down and 148 stocks going up. In the VN30 group, the number of declining stocks was more than 3 times higher than the number of increasing stocks (21 stocks and 6 stocks).

There was a strong differentiation among the pillar stocks. Among the 10 stocks with the largest market capitalization, VHM, VIC, TCB increased in price; VNM, HPG, CTG,FPT , GAS, BID, VCB decreased in price. VNM had the strongest impact on the market decline when it took away 0.75 points from the VN-Index; followed by MSN (nearly 0.6 points), FPT (0.56 points)...

On the other hand, VHM, VIC, VPB, VRE, TCB, HCM, SSI, VCI helped the market not to fall further.

In today's session, most sectors decreased; in which, household and personal appliances, hardware, and semiconductors were the sectors that decreased by more than 2%. In contrast, the consumer services sector had the most positive performance.

Liquidity improved, reaching 18,000 billion VND. Foreign investors were net sellers. This group bought more than 1,366 billion VND and sold nearly 1,753 billion VND.

At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the total transaction value reached more than VND1,200 billion. At the end of the session, the HNX-Index stopped at 238.97 points, down 1.1 points (-0.46%); the HNX30-Index decreased 5.15 points (-0.97%), to 526.37 points.
