VNPT deploys GSMA Open Gateway

On April 15, within the framework of the GSMA Digital Nations Summit held in Hanoi, VNPT participated in the ceremony to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the World Mobile Association (GSMA), officially deploying API services under the GSMA Open Gateway initiative.

This is an important step forward affirming the leading role of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) in the effort to promote national digital transformation, while expanding international cooperation, towards building a modern, safe and sustainable digital ecosystem in Vietnam.

GSMA Open Gateway is a global initiative initiated by GSMA to standardize application programming interfaces (APIs) between operators. This will enable businesses, developers and organizations in the digital ecosystem to easily access and integrate telecommunications and technology services in a flexible, secure and transparent manner. To date, the initiative has had the participation of more than 280 operators, accounting for 80% of total global mobile connections.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Van Trieu - Deputy General Director of VNPT-Media - said: "Participating in GSMA Open Gateway is a strategic step to help VNPT promote its key role in the national digital transformation process.

We are committed to providing open API solutions, better serving the needs of authentication, security, reconciliation and digital transactions, while promoting inclusive financial models, cross-border payments and safe, modern digital services for people and businesses."

In Vietnam, VNPT aims to develop API services according to Open Gateway in 5 key areas: User authentication; Telecommunications services; Digital finance; IoT & 5G; and scoring and fraud detection. These are all important pillars in the digital ecosystem and the foundation for deploying new technology applications in the digital age.

As a technology - telecommunications group with a long history of formation and strong implementation capacity, VNPT always applies advanced technologies such as AI, big data, blockchain to bring high-quality digital products and services. The cooperation event with GSMA once again shows that VNPT is constantly innovating, proactively integrating internationally, and is ready to accompany the Government and businesses in the process of building a comprehensive and sustainably developed digital Vietnam.
