New developments related to the progress of handling the counterfeit goods trading case at Z Holding Company and the case with signs of bribery at the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health , were raised by the press at the meeting on the afternoon of September 29 of the Central Internal Affairs Committee.
Regarding this content, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief of Office, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security , said that up to now, the Investigation Police Agency has prosecuted 10 defendants related to the case that occurred at Z Holding Company, with two main charges: Production and trading of counterfeit food products and Violation of accounting regulations causing serious consequences.

The new development of the case, according to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, is that the investigation agency has seized 20 real estates, issued a document temporarily suspending the transfer of 8 other real estates, temporarily detained 5 cars, and seized over 50 billion VND.
The investigation agency also ordered the freezing of 17 bank accounts and 12 securities accounts of the defendants to ensure investigation, prosecution and trial.
In addition to conducting investigations to identify violations, Major General Toan said that the authorities have taken steps to handle and remedy the consequences of the case.
Regarding the case that occurred at the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health , the Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security said that the investigation agency has prosecuted 29 defendants on two charges: Giving bribes and Receiving bribes.
“The latest development is that the Ministry of Public Security’s investigation police agency has seized 6 real estate properties. The defendants have recovered over 13.9 billion VND,” Mr. Toan informed.
A representative of the Ministry of Public Security said the case is still under investigation. The police investigation agency is closely coordinating with the Supreme People's Procuracy to consolidate documents and evidence to handle it in accordance with the law.
Also at the meeting, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan informed the press about the project to build the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters. This is a case that has been put under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee.
According to Mr. Toan, the case is being handled by the Government Inspectorate and the Ministry of Finance. When there is a conclusion, the Ministry of Public Security will proceed to handle it according to regulations.
On June 19, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained many subjects for violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences and producing and trading in counterfeit food products.
Among the defendants are: Hoang Quang Thinh (General Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Z Holding Joint Stock Company), La Khac Minh, Nguyen Van Minh (both Deputy General Directors of Z Holding Company), Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (Director of Nature Made Trading and Production Company), Tran Xuan Chien (Director of Alama Trading & Technology Company Limited).
According to the investigation agency, the dossier declared the nutritional product Hiup 27 with 37 nutrients. However, the test results showed that Hiup 27 only had 15-17 types of substances, not ensuring the quality and nutritional content standards. Thus, according to current regulations, the above products are counterfeit.
The report shows that the factory price of each can of milk is 87,800 VND. Meanwhile, the market sells a can of Hiup 27 milk for an average price of more than 546,000 VND. Initially, the authorities recorded that the total revenue of this line is estimated at more than 6,700 billion VND.
