Chau Hong Commune (Quy Hop) flooded after heavy rain

To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the authorities and the Chau Hong commune government were present at the scene that night to mobilize households in the dangerous area to move to a safe place, waiting for the water to recede before returning home. At the same time, they mobilized forces and people to move furniture, property, and livestock out of the flooded area to the highest place to avoid damage. Although they proactively responded and moved furniture since the night of August 23, people still encountered many difficulties because of the darkness and heavy rain.

Local people said that the night before, on August 22, Chau Hong also had flooding, so people had experience. The elderly and children in the remaining high-rise buildings helped move things to the highest position to avoid damage.

The water has now receded and the damage is being assessed by the local authorities. Chau Hong Commune continues to send forces to be on duty 24/7 and assess the extent of the damage, encourage people to be confident in flood prevention, direct measures to ensure safety and support people in case of difficulties.
