Phuc Loi Commune strives to plant 560 hectares of new forest or more each year.

Taking advantage of the forest hills, Phuc Loi commune (Lao Cai) strives to plant 560 hectares of new forest each year, including 120 hectares of cinnamon. The goal by 2030 is to build the commune into a strong forestry locality of the province.

Phuc Loi Commune Party Committee identified one of the three breakthroughs in the 2025 - 2030 term as attracting investment in deep processing of forestry products, such as: processing planted forest wood, extracting cinnamon essential oil and products from cinnamon trees; at the same time, building a synchronous traffic infrastructure to facilitate production development and improve people's lives.

Over the past years, Phuc Loi commune has actively and effectively implemented policies to support the development of forestry production, gradually forming commodity production areas and increasing product value. The locality has paid special attention to managing and protecting natural forests and protective forests; combining exploitation and planting new production forests.

As a result, from 2020 to now, the whole commune has planted 3,259 hectares of new forest; there are currently 26 wood processing facilities in the area, creating stable income for more than 300 workers.

In addition, the commune focuses on strongly transforming the mindset from agricultural production to agricultural economy ; rearranging and re-arranging the space for agricultural and rural development to ensure saving land funds, infrastructure investment costs, improving material conditions for people, creating favorable conditions for production and long-term stability.

Along with that, focusing on developing multi-purpose forestry, improving the quality and efficiency of large timber plantations, developing medicinal plants under the forest canopy, the commune maintains a forest cover rate of 77.6%. Promoting sustainable forestry development, improving the efficiency of economic forest production, encouraging and attracting businesses to invest in association with households from planting to processing and exporting wood products, thereby increasing income for forest growers.

The commune also forms and develops production linkage models according to value chains, attracting and encouraging businesses and cooperatives to invest in production, processing and consumption of agricultural and forestry products, thereby increasing income and helping people to stick with planting, caring for and protecting forests.
