Building a cultural environment for Mui Ne National Tourist Area

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Thanh Huy recently chaired a working session with the delegation of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on the current situation and solutions to build a cultural environment in Mui Ne National Tourist Area.

Mui Ne National Tourist Area was established under Decision No. 1772/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated December 18, 2018. Mui Ne National Tourist Area is oriented to develop according to approved planning projects such as: Detailed planning of Phan Thiet - Mui Ne tourist cluster; tourism development planning of Binh Thuan province; master plan for development of Mui Ne National Tourist Area to 2025, vision to 2030; zoning plans of Phu Hai, Mui Ne, Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu areas...

Mui Ne National Tourist Area owns 16 tangible cultural resources, including 3 national relics and landscapes (Nguyen Thong tomb, Po Sah Inu tower relic, Bau Trang); 4 provincial-level relics and landscapes (Suoi Tien, Khanh Thien communal house historical and cultural relic, Thach Long pagoda historical and cultural relic, Mui Ne flying sand dunes); 9 religious establishments that have not been classified as relics (Phu Binh pagoda, Buu Son pagoda, Tu Bang pagoda, Khanh An pagoda, Hai Quang pagoda, Binh An pagoda, Linh Lang pagoda, Giac Hai pagoda, Thien Khanh communal house). In addition to 7 tangible cultural resources that have been classified at national and provincial levels, the locality has added 7 intangible cultural resources to serve tourism in Mui Ne National Tourist Area: Kate Festival at Po Sah Inu tower; Spring and Autumn Worshiping Ceremony at communal houses; Fishing Worshiping Ceremony at mausoleums and temples; Rowing of Ba Trao in mausoleums and temples; Buddha's birthday and Vu Lan ceremonies in pagodas. Currently, the general planning of Mui Ne National Tourist Area has been completed and is collecting comments from ministries and branches for the province to approve and submit to the Prime Minister for approval...

The representative of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration also proposed to include the set of criteria on cultural environment in the National Tourism Area with 5 basic groups; proposed decentralization of management in the establishment of the National Tourism Area Management Board; the current situation and solutions for building a cultural environment in Mui Ne National Tourism Area. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration also requested the Binh Thuan tourism industry to provide additional comments on the set of criteria on cultural environment in the National Tourism Area to submit to the competent authority for promulgation in the near future.

The delegation of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism was also guided to visit and conduct field surveys at the Ham Tien - Mui Ne Tourist Area Management Board, Bau Trang Tourist Area Management Board; visit and experience some tourist services operating at Bau Trang scenic spot, enjoy specialties and cuisine at Ham Tien - Mui Ne Tourist Area...
